Hedgehog with Flowers

I hope you all had a nice week. Can you believe it's already the last day of July? Summer sure seems short! My card today features Harry with Flowers F598. I borrowed some dies from a dear stamping friend for this one. She also happens to love hedgehogs so this card got sent to her!
I used watercolor pencils for coloring, and a bit of a glitter pen.
For the green part I layered some vellum over patterned paper just give it a more muted look.
The sentiment is computer generated.
Now go enjoy the last hours of July, and take a minute to soak in the beauty of summer!

Thursday with Toni

Hello!  Time for another Great Impressions card for you.  I absolutely love the F252 Life is Not Measured sentiment I used.  Love, love, love.  I wanted the sentiment to take center stage so I did a simple background watercolor wash to represent a beautiful sunrise.  Doesn't the sentiment just capture that feeling so well?  I have filed this card in my any occasion section but will keep it in mind for sympathy too.  Such a versatile sentiment.

See you next week with another GI designToni

Don't forget about the GI monthly challenge!
You don't have to use GI stamps but it'd be totally awesome if you did!

Monogram Stationary ...

Good morning and Happy Hump Day! Ruza here to share another project featuring the awesome Great Impressions Stamps.

I really enjoy making personal stationary for friends and family, and decided to make some for myself using the Monogram Flourish "R" (E607). For this set of 3-1/2" x 5" note cards I stamped the monogram with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it a bit, and went over the flourish with my Copic 0.3 Multi-Liner Pens. Each monogram was cut out with one of my dies, and popped onto my airbrushed background with 3D foam tape. These were quick and easy to make.

I picked up some Gold Deco Foil for another project I'm working on, and decided to make another card featuring the Monogram Flourish "R" (E607). I stamped the monogram with watermark ink, embossed it with clear embossing powder and then rubbed the Gold Deco Foil over the monogram. Mind you, it sounds easier that it was. I had to used a lot of arm strength for the foil to adhere to the monogram. I'll have to pick up some gold embossing powder for next time. The stripes were easier to create. I used 1/8" double-sided tape, and then rubbed on the foil. I really love how elegant this card turned out.

That is all for me today. I will be back next week with another project featuring some amazing stamps from Great Impressions! I hope you will check out our current Great Impressions Challenge, and if you use some Great Impressions stamps make sure you link them up in our Customer Gallery!

Until next week ... Enjoy!

Life Is Art

Happy Tuesday!

Back again today with a happy little card!

I absolutely LOVE this sentiment, E792 Life Is Art.   I wanted the sentiment to stand out, so I made a background using the Masking Tape Technique;  placing masking tape on your ink pad and smoothing down, then applying the inked tape to your card stock.  I wanted to make you feel that this creation was a piece of art hanging on a wall.  Ribbon and little bows and pearl accents.

Still a little bit of time to get in on our Monthly Challenge, To Use Your Favorite Stamp!  And when you use your favorite Great Impressions stamp link it right to our Customer Gallery, where at the end of the year you could win some fabulous prizes just for being a loyal customer!

Scandinavian Inspired Tulips

Hi, friends!  I'm here with another fun card using darling stamps from the Great Impressions online store to brighten your Monday and start your week off right!  Today, I'm sharing a card that was inspired by my Scandinavian heritage...

Here's my inspiration~

I LOVE the way these colors look on the dark background, and I adore the use of a repeated dot pattern.  Those were my inspirations when creating this card.  Take a peek...

The image, H251 Tall Tulips, was the perfect choice for this technique.  I heat embossed it in white onto black cardstock.  I then did a white ink wash onto the middles of the image.  I took a colored pencil and colored over the white, then around the image.  The last setp was to add the dots with a silver Sharpie marker.

The sentiment, one of the sayings from E791 Sweet Sentiments, was heat embossed in white onto vellum.  I added it to the card using dimensional foam.  The faceted gems cover those up. ;)

To tie everything together, I added more dots as a border around the panel.  I also decided to add some purple glitter paper to my card base for added texture and shine.

I LOVE the way this turned out!  I adore the effect that this technique creates--don't you?  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! :)

Thank you for stopping by, friends!  That's all for me today, but I'll be back next soon with another creation using stamps from the Great Impressions store.  I hope you join in our current challenge, and, if you use Great Impressions stamps, link them up in our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Thursdays with Toni

Hello!  Time for another Great Impressions card for you.  I love how this turned out.  Lots of white space but full of texture that works so well with the E149 Said the Butterfly sentiment stamp, don't you think?  I added a few tiny butterflies for a jot of color and used a dark blue ink for the sentiment rather than my usual black.

See you next week with another GI designToni

Thinking of You Magical Snowman ...

Good morning and Happy Hump Day! Ruza here to share another project featuring the awesome Great Impressions Stamps.

I fell in love with this adorable Magical Snowman (J114) when I saw him. He is so fun and can be used to create any type of card ... from Christmas to Birthday's, Thinking of You, Hello, etc. I used the Playful Thinking of You (B195) sentiment for today's card.

Our Magical Snowman (J114) was colored with Copic Markers. I paper-pieced hat and scarf, and airbrushed some light blue around him. The snow was created with whipped spackle, and I added a bit to his hat, scarf and arms.

That is all for me today. I will be back next week with another project featuring some amazing stamps from Great Impressions! I hope you will check out our current Great Impressions Challenge, and if you use some Great Impressions stamps make sure you link them up in our Customer Gallery!

Three Little Chicks

Hi, friends!  I'm here with another fun card using darling stamps from the Great Impressions online store to brighten your Monday and start your week off right!  Today, I'm CASEing a blogging friend of mine, Lisa Elton from My Paper Tales, and her fun and cute style.  Come take a peek at my card...

I started by stamping the image, A119 Springy Chicken, three times.  I watercolored each, then punched them out and layered them onto some scallop circles.

Next, I stamped the sentiment, C480 Hey Chickie, onto some kraft cardstock.  I LOVE this cute sentiment--perfect for ANY creation with a darling birdie or chicken!

I chose some floral paper and some cute yellow flower buttons as embellishments.  The buttons had pink enamel dots added to their centers to tie in all the pink.  I also added some pink ribbon to keep it super girly.  I LOVE this cute card!  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your opinion in the comments below!

Life's Better...

Happy Saturday!

Today, I'm sharing a card made with some really fun, new stamps,

For this card, I used:

Oh my goodness, that Sparky is so cute!  He's been popping up in so many Great Impressions creations, that I thought he needed a little R and R at the beach!

He was stamped on some white cardstock. I masked him, and overstamped with the sand, two or three times, until I got a great little sand pile.  Then, I colored the background water and sky with some copics.  The mask came off, and Sparky was colored with Copic markers.  I used some dies to give him a fun frame.

The best embellishment ever were the wee sunglasses!  A friend gave me a few of these many years ago, and while looking for googly eyes, I found them.  Looks a bit like Mr. Hollywood, right?  SO glad that I didn't have any googly eyes!

I'll be back next week with another project featuring some amazing stamps from Great Impressions

Blue Skies

Welcome back stamping friends! We've made it through another week...time sure flies!
Just like this balloon:
I started out by stamping Hot Air Balloon F549 in a light blue ink on watercolor paper, then stamping the balloon again in black, coloring it with copics, cutting it out, and popping it up on foam tape over the first image. I went back and painted the sky with twinkling H2Os. Then I stamped Blue Skies D504 and added some small sequins and pearls. The background I kept pretty simple with just cardstock and a couple strips of washi tape.
Best wishes for blue skies for all of your weekend activities!

Thursdays with Toni

Hello!  Time for another Great Impressions card for you.  Yet another card with a butterfly!  All that white space really lets the F269 Summertime Flowers stamp sing.  It was super simple to color too which is great when you need a card on the quick--like everyday, right?!  I used Copics but could totally see this being done with watercolors or pencils.  And how about coloring and cutting out an extra butterfly to mount on top for extra dimension?  What about glossy accents or glitter?  So many possibilities!

See you next week with another GI designToni

Friendship Grows ...

Good morning and Happy Hump Day! Ruza here to share another project featuring the awesome Great Impressions Stamps.

The adorable Friendship Grows (G184) stamp is such a lovely stamp to color and create with. When creating today's card I was thinking of the old-style stationary from my childhood where you folded the paper to create a card.

I added a butterfly and some bling to add a little extra to my design. The wings fold down for easy mailing.

Here's another look at Friendship Grows (G184) stamp ...
